Hi, my name is Resha, and I'm a mom doing everything I can to give my amazing son TJ the care, safety, and support he deserves. TJ will be 5 years old in June. He's autistic, full of energy, curiosity, and have so much love. Autism has many beautiful strengths, but also some unique challenges that require extra support.
Right now, we're facing several important needs that we simply can't meet without help:
- A fenced backyard and safe play area.
TJ thrives when he can play outdoors, but safety is a major concern. A fenced yard and playground would give him the freedom to explore and grow in a secure environment.
- Support for his new school.
TJ was recently accepted into a specialized school that is an incredible fit for his learning and developmental needs. However, it's a 40 minute drive each way, and the school day ends at 3:30pm. To make this work, I will have to hire someone to take and pick him up from school everyday until I can find employment closer to his school and can accommodate with the school hours.
- Additional therapy and respite care.
Like many families with special needs children, we want to give TJ access to all the tools he needs to thrive. That includes extra therapies, as well as safe, trained care so we can take care of ourselves too.
