Help our Aunt Fight Pneumonia - ICU & Medical Costs
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Alyssa Macarulay, and I’m asking for your help on behalf of my aunt, Narisa “Tita Pinang” Andes, who is currently fighting for her life in the ICU in the Philippines due to Stage 3 pneumonia.
Tita Pinang isn’t just an aunt, she’s the heart of our family. She is silly, witty, and always making us laugh with her one-of-a-kind sense of humor. She could turn any dull moment into joy, even when we were in 2 different time zones; nighttime here, morning there. Despite the miles between us, she always made us feel close, loved, and uplifted.
She never complains, even with a lifetime of lung problems. Before she was hospitalized, she didn’t even tell my mom she needed medication because she didn’t want to be a burden. She’d rather see others taken care of first. That’s who she is. Always selfless, always kind.
But now, she needs us. She’s been intubated twice and hospitalized since May 20. First at Calamba Medical Center, and now at AMSI Doctor’s Medical Center. The medical expenses have become too much for our family to handle alone:
- ICU stay: $1,400–$2,000 USD daily
- Medications, bloodwork, procedures: $500–$1,000 USD daily
She stayed in the ICU for nearly a month and then had to be rushed back only 10 days later. Her body has been through so much, but we know her spirit is strong.
She is staying strong not just for herself, but for her daughter Naveen, who is only 10 years old. Naveen misses her mom terribly. Every day, she asks the titas and titos watching her, “Nasaan ang nanay ko? (Where’s Mommy?)” It’s heartbreaking.
Her husband, Vinz Alvin Andes, is doing all he can to provide for their family, but he can’t do it alone. He spends every night sleeping in the hospital to stay close to Pinang.
We love you, Tita Pinang. We’re not ready to say goodbye. We need your light, your laughter, your heart.
Please, if you’re reading this, we ask from the bottom of our hearts to donate if you can, and share if you can’t. Every dollar helps keep her alive, every share spreads her story.
Thank you so much for your love, generosity, and prayers.
Every donation, no matter the amount, goes toward another living day for our aunt. Your support truly means the world to us.
