Help Tinsley and Family Rebuild After Hurricane
Donation protected
Friends, this is Cary Bainbridge. Many of you have asked me how you can help my sister, Tinsley Kopp, and her family following the devastating destruction of Hurricane Helene to their home and personal belongings.
Tinsley, Joe, Sophie (16) and Josie (7), their cat Siri and Fripp their Frenchie dog, evacuated without much time to prepare. They came home to find 4-feet of sea and sewer water had consumed their ranch home.
We are so grateful for local friends who have stepped in to help clear out the house however, it's going to be a long road to rebuild. They are currently displaced and in need of basic necessities. Tinsley is a high school special education teacher, and as you know they don't get much time off, so she is back at work while trying to figure out the future.
We have learned flood insurance does not cover displacement and personal contents is limited. We expect right now they will not be able to go home for at least 6 months, possibly a year. While we've been able to salvage some family heirlooms and dishes, all furniture, baby books/yearbooks, toys and much of the basics like pillows, hair dryers, clothes/socks, chargers, medicines are in the junk pile.
As we continue to help them in every we can as a family, I wanted to share a few options they could really benefit from some additional support.
- Any contribution amount for temp housing while they rebuild
- Basic necessities/other destroyed items via this Amazon list - https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1FRAHFTOQX65C?type=wishlist
- Referrals if you know any snowbirds/those with vacation home/condo or garage apt in the St Pete area
This was not an easy decision to put this page together. So many people are devastated by Helene, and still without power and water. But as we all do in horrible situations, we ask how we can help. So I wanted to give options to do exactly that!
Thank you, friends . . . for your outreach and for those who have already initiated help for my sis, and the girls.
This fundraiser is for my sister, Tinsley Kopp, as the beneficiary who live in St Petersburg, FL. As her sister, living in Atlanta, we are coming together to help support them with basic necessities and have temporary housing while they rebuild.
