Help Tina & Jax start a new life
Donation protected
Hi there, my name is Dean from Charlies Mates, and I created this fundraiser to support one of my clients and her pup Jax who have had a rough 3 ½ years. Many of you will know Tina as she has been a member of the Wentworth Point Community for nine years. During this time, Tina has been a major contributor to the community by being involved in multiple fundraisers, a co-founder of the Wentworth Point Artist market & the inspiration behind our Free Art Fridays over COVID lockdown. To say Tina is part of Wentworth Point is an understatement.
Tina could never have predicted that she would ever be in a situation that would see her life fall apart due to a workplace accident. In March 2018, she fell hard on a driveway and landed on her left wrist/hand, which required complex surgery where she ended up with a broken clamp left inside her wrist for over ten months that caused major damage to her nerves. After changing medical teams and five additional surgeries later on her left wrist, lower arm and hand.
Tina is now left with limited use of her left arm and hand, suffers from chronic pain and is on multiple medications just to get through the day. This has led to Tina needing to move to an over 50’s lifestyle village as Workers Compensation won’t provide future home support for her even though she struggles with day to day tasks like simply making her bed.
Knowing that she was receiving a lump sum from her Total and Permanent disability insurance and early release of her superannuation Tina has now put a deposit down on a place in QLD and was all set to move with Jax; unfortunately, the taxman has taken a major chunk of money from her payout which has now left her short of the total contract that she has signed. Only needing $18,000 to get her over the line and moved to QLD, Tina has applied for multiple home loans, personal loans and even credit cards, but because she is still on workers compensation, she cannot get a loan of any kind.
Tina has been trying hard not to lose this dream and opportunity to take the intense pressure of her and Jax to have and start a new life. She has been busy selling her artwork and clothes to close the gap, but with only a few weeks to pull this together, I’m asking for your help.
The funds we need to help Tina is $18,000, of which $14,000 will be used for the final payment of her new property and the other $4,000 to help her and Jax move to Queensland. So even if you can only give a little, every dollar will help make Tina’s dreams come true and help her move on with her life with her little man Jax.
