Hi! My name is Tiffany Tatu. I’m a rising Senior, Music History Major, Jazz Voice Minor at Howard University & I need your help!
Howard has recently changed their financial requirements for all students. Previously, your account would be placed under a hold if your balance was over $5,000. Even with this hold, students could still keep registered courses & attend classes. Now, many students like me who are entering their final year at Howard are being told that ANY outstanding balance will be sent to collections at the start of the Fall semester. This can prevent over 1,000 students from finishing their studies & obtaining their degrees. That’s why I need your help.
My balance from last semester is $4,155, and I currently don’t have any other means to pay this balance off in full. I’ve tried contacting the office of financial aid and went to the bursar's office in person. I asked if there were any resources to help me pay this balance off and was told, “Well, I suggest you better get started on that 4,000-something dollars…”
I’m so close to getting my degree and completing the requirements for my Music History and Jazz Voice program. Anything helps!
Thank you so much for your time.
