Hi! My name is Tali, and I've set up this GoFundMe to help my mom, Tiera, recoup her losses after recently being robbed.
My mom, Tiera, is amazing. She has created a life for herself as a traveling pet and house sitter, living a life of adventure most people only dream of. Of course, with COVID, her lifestyle and income have been derailed. Since her life is one of travel, she does not have a home of her own. Thankfully, some in her network have helped her get through this year, and she is happy to be staying with a friend in the Bay Area.
Unfortunately, the house she was staying in was robbed last week. Not much of the owner's was taken, and no one was harmed, but nearly everything of value was taken from my mom. The Berkely PD were able to recover some of her belongings such as personal documents, and even her laptop which she uses for work (though it's unfortunately not working after being returned).
What was not recovered was her jewelry, much of which were keepsakes that once belonged to my grandmother, her mother. In addition, a rather considerable amount of cash savings, in multiple currencies, is now gone.
This emergency fund was what she kept on hand to be able to travel for work, and to just have on hand in case of health or personal emergency. When it comes to money, it was basically all she had.
Any help you can offer to help her recoup this loss would be so appreciated. $5, $10, $20, $100, $1000...whatever you would like to chip in will be helpful in re-establishing a safety net for her, especially once she is able to travel for work once more.
