This morning, our family received the devastating news that my sister-in-law Tia and her family’s home in Alabama went up in flames. Their home and belongings have been destroyed, leaving them suddenly having to figure out how to start over.

There are several children in the home, making the immediate need especially urgent. Right now, they need help with the basics most of us take for granted every day—a safe place to stay, food, clothing, shoes, toiletries, personal items, and other necessities for the children and adults. In the days and weeks ahead, they will also face the overwhelming task of replacing household belongings and rebuilding their lives.

This all happened so suddenly that they haven't even had time to fully process what they've lost. The fire department was still working at the property while our family began trying to figure out how we could help them through these first critical days.

We are creating this GoFundMe to take some of the immediate financial burden off Tia and her family so they can focus on their children, finding stability, and beginning to recover from this devastating loss.
