For decades, Vera and her husband, Arnaldo, have been the heart and soul of their community. As long-time immigrants, they’ve built a life filled with hard work, generosity, and unwavering support for those around them.

Despite Arnaldo’s remarkable resilience over the years, including recovering from heart and gallbladder surgeries, the challenges he faces now are particularly daunting. Since September, he’s been unable to work due to severe sciatic pain, leading to numerous complications. He suffers from extreme swelling and pain in his legs and other parts of his body, as well as internal bleeding. In addition to these physical challenges, Arnaldo is now also grappling with extreme depression, anxiety, and constant panic attacks—challenges he has never faced before.
