Help Thrive Lonsdale Go On Field Trips!

Who We Are:



We are four passionate college students at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, coming together to make a difference in our community. Our project aims to raise funds for Thrive Lonsdale, a local organization that provides academic and emotional support to under-resourced children and their families. Thrive Lonsdale’s mission resonates deeply with us, and we are committed to helping them continue their work. We believe that every kid should have the resources to seek mentorship, homework help, and support when needed. We are committed to using our funds to help the children in Lonsdale succeed. Through this GoFundMe, we hope to bring our community together to create bright futures for the children Thrive serves.

What We Need:

We are looking to raise funds for Thrive Lonsdale, more specifically, funds to support them when they go on field trips. This is going to help Thrive Lonsdale plan field trips without worrying about funds for van maintenance, gas, and funds for supplies used on the trip. For example, Thrive Lonsdale takes students on annual camping trips. A lot of money is used for gas, food for the trip, and camping supplies. Our minimum goal is $1,000. Donating a little goes a long way, even $25 is helpful to fill the vans with gas for trips. With Thrive Lonsdale being a 501 © (3) organization, they do not receive any government funding, only funds from donors. This means that if you donate, you are immediately contributing to making a difference in the life of a student.

How It Helps:

Your donation will help Thrive Lonsdale organize events for Knoxville children. With this money, they will be able to purchase things like camping supplies: tents, sleeping bags, and food. Thrive will also be able to use this money to fund other more expensive field trips such as a trip to the science museum, zoo, or their annual ski trip! These are things that some kids in Knoxville simply don’t have access to. Your contribution will allow kids to experience a sense of childhood and security they otherwise wouldn’t have. Your donation to Thrive Lonsdale will also continue to reduce food insecurity in Knoxville families, the meals that Thrive provides for these kids take a heavy weight off of the family by consistently providing nourishment to kids who need it. Help the children of Knoxville continue to have a safe place to study, play, and grow today!
