Help Thomas Tramontozzi Rebuild After Fire

Hello everyone. My name is Sarah Legere and I’m writing to you today to seek help for my father, Thomas Tramontozzi.

Many of you may have seen the Fitchburg Fire Department post about what happened, but on Monday, May 26th 2025 my father’s apartment building was burnt down, displacing 12 families and their pets. This has been an incredibly devastating loss for everyone involved. We are so thankful everyone is okay and for the FFD efforts in all of this, but at a loss for what comes next, as the building had no insurance.

My father has helped so many others and I can’t sit around and let this happen to him all over again. Many years back he also lost his business on Water Street in Fitchburg, MA due to a break in / robbery, involving the destruction of the entire side of the building, causing the need for it to be demolished, which was also a devastating loss. I refuse to sit around and let my father suffer this alone all over again. He doesn’t deserve this, nor do these families. No one should ever have to go through this.

This building has been within our family and providing for us for over 30 years. I have been sobbing over this loss knowing how silly the cause of it was. I want to be so angry, but I know that’s no good. This has been one of my biggest fears come true. There would have been nothing my father could do to prevent this, other than ban the use of candles. Maybe this will be a lesson moving forward, for everyone involved. Please do not ever leave candles lit and / or unattended for prolonged periods of time.

All we can do now is hope and pray for a miracle, as in this economy, it’s proving to be impossible to rebuild. You all are part of my hopes and prayers to help save this building and help provide a home to those impacted. I’m hoping we can come together and truly make a big impact, as I fear for what’s to come. I know times are tough right now, but truly anything can help and be appreciated more than you know.
