Hi, my name is Greg and I’m fundraising for a gentleman a lot of us know who lives in the West End. Some of us know him as Thomas, some of us know him as Jimmy, he is the fiftyish Asian gentleman who lives typically in the underpass at the entrance to Stanley Park next to the roundabout. From what I know about him, he is a kind man, who we have all seen for many years living there, some have said that he’s Buddhist. He’s always friendly. Recently, he was assaulted and hospitalized, part of the West End Facebook group is working on storing his possessions until he can get out of the hospital. I am fundraising so we can have a pool of cash to figure out what he needs when he gets out of the hospital. My plan is to try to consult with him to figure out which possessions would best serve him, or perhaps it’s cash. Our community, which includes him knows full well that he did nothing to deserve this other than someone prayed on his vulnerability. Let’s help him before Christmas so that he knows people care.
