Hi everyone,

We are reaching out to ask for help keeping this loving family together and to help cover the costs of returning to their home country. In August 2025, the father of one of my child's friends was wrongfully arrested. He is a hardworking man who came to this country with his family looking to make an honest living and give his children safety and opportunity. Unfortunately, he was arrested on a mistake and, although charges have been dropped and his innocence has been proved, he has now been taken to an ICE detention facility.

Jefferson has been detained for nearly two months and is now making the difficult decision to self-deport in order to get his freedom back and be reunited with his family. His wife, Ingrid, and their two kids will be returning to Colombia as soon as they are able to and need our help in tying up loose ends here in the US, covering legal fees, breaking their lease, and leaving the country in good standing. Any remaining funds will be given to the family to help them start up fresh in Colombia by securing a place to live, schools for the girls, and giving them a little bit of financial stability as they restart their lives. Les pedimos ayuda para mantener unida a esta querida familia y para cubrir los gastos de su regreso a su país de origen. En agosto de 2025, el padre de una amiga de mi hijo fue arrestado injustamente. Es un hombre trabajador que vino a este país con su familia buscando ganarse la vida honradamente y brindarles seguridad y oportunidades a sus hijas. Desafortunadamente, fue arrestado por error y, aunque se retiraron los cargos y se demostró su inocencia, ahora ha sido trasladado a un centro de detención de ICE.

Jefferson lleva detenido casi dos meses y ahora está tomando la difícil decisión de autodeportarse para recuperar su libertad y reunirse con su familia. Su esposa, Ingrid, y sus dos hijas regresarán a Colombia tan pronto como puedan y necesitan nuestra ayuda para resolver asuntos pendientes aquí en Estados Unidos, cubrir los gastos legales, rescindir su contrato de arrendamiento y salir del país en regla. Los fondos restantes se entregarán a la familia para ayudarles a empezar de cero en Colombia, asegurándoles un lugar donde vivir, escuelas para las niñas y brindándoles un poco de estabilidad financiera mientras renuevan sus vidas. ¡Gracias de antemano!
