Weiwei Duan joined us in the laboratory in late 2020 and became a valuable member of our team. Unfortunately, she recently passed away leaving behind her beloved husband and disabled son. Her son was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when he was born, and the main reason why they chose to move to Canada 4 years ago was to give him the best possible treatment and care. Weiwei was the primary provider of her family and with her untimely death, she left her family without enough resources to face their new reality.
