We are trying to help this sweet family buy a car so they don't have to walk everywhere, especially with Toni's cancer.

Toni Poudel and her family are facing an incredibly difficult season and are asking for help during a time when they have exhausted every option on their own.

On August 20, 2020—Toni’s birthday—she and her husband were involved in a serious car accident. While hospitalized, doctors performed biopsies on a spot on Toni’s spine that had grown from the size of a pea to the size of a silver dollar. She was diagnosed with a blood cancer. Toni underwent 25 weeks of radiation, which only partially stopped the cancer. After being cleared for a second back surgery, the cancer unfortunately spread further.

In June of 2021, Toni’s mother passed away after suffering a massive stroke caused by a spot on her brain. Shortly afterward, the family lost the home they were living in with her parents. In December of 2021, Toni’s father also passed away. After losing both parents within six months, Toni, her husband, and their daughters moved to Dallas hoping to rebuild. The apartment they moved into was later deemed unlivable, forcing the family to live in a hotel.

In April of 2023, the family returned and began staying at a Motel 6, where they have lived ever since. In July of 2023, Toni and her husband began working for the motel. Every two weeks, they sign their paychecks over to the owner simply to keep a roof over their daughters’ heads.

Last year, the family’s vehicle broke down, and the engine repair cost more than the car was worth. Without transportation, Toni took on a second job and walks to and from work every day. Her youngest daughter also walks to and from school—through rain, cold, and extreme weather. The family walks everywhere, including for groceries and basic hygiene needs.

Recently, Toni’s oncologist reached out to schedule scans to determine whether her cancer has spread further. Toni has been experiencing severe pain and weakness in her right arm and has difficulty lifting it. However, without transportation, she has been unable to attend these critical medical appointments.

This fundraiser is to help Toni and her family secure a reliable vehicle. Having transportation would allow Toni to attend life-saving cancer appointments, get to both of her jobs, safely take her daughter to and from school, and meet basic daily needs without walking miles each day.

Toni and her family are not asking for a handout—they are asking for a chance. Any donation, share, or prayer would mean the world and help provide hope, stability, and dignity during one of the hardest chapters of their lives.
