Hi! If you don’t know us, we are Jacob and Katherine Yakos. We live in Colorado with our two kids, Kamila and Marvin. We are passionate about family and our faith and that has led us here.

We are adopting! We are excited to finally share that we have been working hard on the domestic adoption process. Our home study has been finalized, and we are waiting to be matched with a child and/or an expectant mother.

Jacob and I started talking about adoption when we were dating, it is something we have prayed about our entire marriage, and we felt God saying it was time to start the process last year. So here we are! If you know our story, you know that growing our family has been both a beautiful and a painful process. We have lost babies, and we see daily what a miracle life is through our two incredible kids, Kamila and Marvin.

We are passionate about adoption because we believe every child deserves a chance at life and a loving home, for this reason we want to support the brave mothers who are choosing life for their babies. We would love for you to be a part of this story with us! We need your support and your prayers!

While the cost of adoption often ranges from $50,000 to $60,000+, our goal is to raise $50k - AND WE HAVE A MATCHING GRANT! With the $20,000 matching grant, we now need to raise an additional $30,000. We are so incredibly blessed by the generous support we have already received. Every dollar that is donated will be matched up to $20,000!

Average adoption costs:

Home study fee: $1,500 - $3,000

Application fees: $1,000 - $5,000

Agency fees: $20,000 - $25,000

Birth Parent expenses $15,000 - $25,000

Legal Fees: $3,500 - $8,000

Post placement and travel: $3,000 - $4,000
