Our Family Were Victims to an Unpredictable Flood — Please Help Us Rebuild
In just less than 30 minutes, a lifetime of memories, hard work, and love was washed away.
On Saturday Aug 09, 2025, a devastating storm caused floods that ripped through my parents’ neighborhood at about 2am on August 10th. The water came so fast and high that a house on the block lost their foundation. A gas leak forced police to block off two houses and turn off the gas in the neighborhood. My brother said the water was up to his waist—there was no time to save anything. He lost all his clothes, pc system, and personal belongings. Water was coming through the basement walls and eventually through the ceilings. Cars on the block were buried in the water and/or stopped working.
For my family, the loss was beyond words. Our home was unrecognizable. The basement—once full of life, laughter, and memories—ws gone. Every single VHS tape of us growing up, every keepsake from our childhood, every traditional clothing my mom sewed by hand was destroyed. The flood flipped over deep freezers in the garage and ruined two more in the basement, wiping out all of our stored food.
But the damage didn’t stop there. The water didn’t just stay in the basement—it rose to the main floor of the house. The furniture we gathered around as a family, the carpets we played on, the hardwood floors my parents worked so hard for—all ruined. The smell of floodwater fills every room. This wasn’t just damage to a house—this was damage to the place that held our lives.
Right now, my parents are facing the impossible. The repairs are overwhelming, the cleanup is heartbreaking, and the emotional toll is heavy. They’ve lost the security of their home and the pieces of their past that can never be replaced.
We are asking for help—not just to fix the walls and floors but to help rebuild the life my parents built over decades. Every donation, no matter the size, brings them closer to having a safe place to live again. Even if you can’t give financially, sharing this page means the world to us.
From the bottom of our hearts—thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping us hold onto hope during the hardest time of our lives.
