Help the Wolfe's replace their roof and fix mold.

Hello, our neighbors, the Wolfe Family, are really needing our help. An unfair amount of tragedy has hit this family in a very short period of time. We are raising money to repair their roof and mold issues while fighting multiple health issues including 2 types of cancer!

Please let me tell you a little bit about this family:

The current Wolfes at home are: Son Noah, Mom Julie, Grandma Beverly, Dad Steve, Daughter Bethany, and Daughter Mikayla.

Firstly, Mom Julie has terminal soft tissue sarcoma cancer. This last year she was diagnosed with cancer in her shoulder. She had surgery, underwent chemo, and we thought that she was in remission. A short while later doctors then discovered that the cancer has spread to her lungs. She is now considered stage 4, is terminal and they have given her less than 2 years to live. Despite her terminal diagnosis Julie is undergoing chemo treatments to try and extend her life. Her faith in Jesus is strong and while her diagnosis is terrible her God is big!

Secondly, Dad Steve is also experiencing some difficult health issues. In addition to COPD and multiple recent dangerous blood clots, Steve was just recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. He had surgery in December of 2021 and they believe that they caught the cancer in time. Unfortunately, Steve ended up with an infection resulting from the surgery and ended up having emergency surgery over Christmas. Heartbreakingly, Steve spent one of his last Christmases with the love of his life, Julie, away from her as he was admitted in the hospital.  Steve is currently on short term disability and is using up his PTO to support the family.  He's looking forward to getting back to work as soon as he is able.

Grandma Beverly lives with the family to help take care of Julie, and in spite of her own health issues Beverly has generously and unselfishly given herself over to making sure everyone is well taken care of.

Son Noah also lives at home. Noah is 19 years old and has Autism Spectrum Disorder. He is a great joy but also struggles to understand the illness and difficulties that the future holds for this family.

Daughter Bethany age 19 as well, lives at home and is also working around the home, helping out as much as she can, and is currently unemployed but going to interviews and will have a job any day.  She is also considering going to school!

Daughter Mikayla age 22 currently has the only consistent income and works as a preschool teacher. In the midst of all of these traumatic medical events Mikayla is also trying to plan for her wedding in May. Instead of starting out on a new life of their own, Mikayla and her fiance Santiago have made the decision to start their married life living in the basement of Julie and Steve's home as they know that Julie and Steve are going to need as much help as they can get. It is likely that Mikayla will at some point need to take a leave of absence from work in order to care full time for her mom Julie.

In the midst of all of this tragedy the roof on the Wolfe's home is failing. There are multiple leaks with serious and possibly dangerous mold issues developing. The roof was built in the 1980s. At that time the roof was poorly constructed and there is sheeting missing under the roofing material. There are leaks throughout the house and the mold issues are exacerbating health issues for everyone. Several bedrooms have mold issues, including buckling of the ceiling is occurring, with the main bathroom having significant mold damage, and new water damage is beginning in the kitchen ceiling.

This family needs help raising money to purchase roofing supplies. Friends and neighbors have agreed to build a new roof and hopefully repair all the mold damage. Funds may also be needed to bring in professional mold remediation specialists in order to prevent serious illness for volunteers. If you can help, even if all you can spare is $5, we and the Wolfe family would be so thankful. Each little bit will add up to help this family live in a safe and healthy home! Thank you!!!!
