On July 1st, the Williams family's life changed forever.
A devastating fire destroyed their home on their small family farm. Thankfully, everyone made it out safely, including their dog, but they escaped with only the clothes on their backs.
For the past seven years, Willie has proudly served our community as a firefighter and engineer, dedicating his career to protecting others during some of the worst moments of their lives. Anyone who knows Willie knows he'd much rather be the one helping than asking for help. Today, his family needs ours.
The Williams family homeschools their children, and the fire claimed their home and nearly everything they owned, including the computers they relied on for school and online college courses. They have secured temporary housing that allows them to remain close to their family farm, where they continue caring for their animals and are in the process of planting their lavender fields.
They lost their clothing, furniture, household essentials, school supplies, computers, and countless irreplaceable memories.
Now they are facing the overwhelming task of starting over from scratch. Donations will help cover the cost of temporary housing, replace essential household items and clothing, purchase computers so the children can continue their education, and help ease the financial burden while Willie takes time away from work to care for his family and begin rebuilding what was lost.
For years, Willie has answered the call when complete strangers needed help. Today, we're asking our community to answer the call for him and his family.
The road to rebuilding will be long, but with the support of family, friends, and our community, they won't have to walk it alone.
Whether you're able to donate, share this fundraiser, or simply keep the Williams family in your thoughts and prayers, every act of kindness makes a difference. On behalf of Willie and his family, thank you for helping them begin the journey of rebuilding not just their house, but their home.
