Dear Community,

It is with great sadness to inform everyone that our commercial fishing vessel, "Hunter's Lunasea," perished in a fiery blaze on August 13th here in Bermuda after being struck by lightning. For those of you who are boat owners, you understand how central a vessel is in a family's life for the creation of joy and memories on the ocean. If your boat is your way of life as a commercial fisherman, as ours was to us, then you can even better grasp how awful of a situation we now face as the Wilks family. Everything we needed to fish is gone. Our boat was also the lifeline of fresh local fish for our new cafe Two Fish in a Barrel, just opened a mere three months ago, and the mainstream of income for our family. We are asking the community to please donate so we may purchase a new boat - every donation, no matter the amount, helps get back on our feet and guarantee more fish to fuel our restaurant for years to come!
