Help the Whetzels beat childhood cancer!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kelsey and I am a friend of Jason and Jennifer Whetzel. As many of you know, Jason and Jen welcomed a beautiful baby girl in late May. Their sweet girl is such a bright light in this world. At one month old they noticed a growth on her arm and over the last month, she has undergone multiple scans and a biopsy. Unfortunately, the biopsy confirmed that Jason and Jen's daughter has a rare unclassified round-cell sarcoma at only eight weeks old. She was immediately admitted to UVA where she had a port placed and doctors started chemo treatment. The chances of an infant having this type of tumor is a 1 in a million occurrence.
Jason, Jen and their precious two-month-old baby girl have a long road ahead of them as she will continue chemotherapy until the tumor shrinks enough to be surgically removed. The Whetzel family will be at UVA for treatment for an unknown amount of time. A cancer diagnosis is not only an emotionally and physically draining journey but also puts a huge financial strain on this family as they will be taking a lot of time off to care for their child until she is cancer free.
Please continue to pray for healing for this sweet baby girl and strength for Jason and Jen as they help her beat cancer!
