Dear Friends, Family, and All Who Knew Howard Wallen…
It is with deep sorrow that I, Hana Wallen, announce the passing of my beloved father, Howard Wallen. He left us peacefully on August 22nd at Vanderbilt Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. My stepmother, Hillina Wallen, and I are heartbroken, but we find solace in the cherished memories we hold dear.
My father’s journey was one of immense courage as he battled and underwent numerous surgeries for his acoustic neuroma. His strength and resilience were an inspiration to everyone who knew him. Despite his health challenges, Howard was a pillar of love, kindness, and positivity.
As a devoted husband to my stepmother and an exceptional father to me, Howard imparted invaluable life lessons that shaped who I am today. He found his greatest joy in our family and he treasured every moment we spent together, creating memories that will forever live in our hearts.
In his younger years, Howard’s vibrant passion for music captivated audiences as a gifted hardcore artist with the band, Alone In The Crowd. This passion later evolved into a remarkable career as a macrobiotic chef. His creativity and dedication to wellness touched countless lives, enriching them with his nourishing and healing meals. Howard’s dedication to health and healing was not just his profession; it was a reflection of his generous and compassionate spirit.
Howard’s adventurous spirit led him to 37 countries, where he embraced diverse cultures, became fluent in four languages, and shared his insights with those he met.
He was a cherished community member, always ready with a warm smile, a silly dad joke, and a helping hand. His compassion, wisdom, and unwavering support left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. We are immensely proud of all he achieved and the profound difference he made in so many lives.
Dad, you will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Your love, music, and culinary creations have woven a tapestry of memories that will never fade. As we remember the joy and inspiration you brought into our lives, we find comfort in the legacy of your passion and kindness. Rest in power, knowing your spirit will continue to resonate with us, now and always.
Per my father’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral. He will be cremated, and his remains will be scattered in meaningful places we shared as a family.
How you can help!
Now, as we gather the strength to honor his memory, we also face the overwhelming challenge of covering medical bills, his cremation, and general expenses. As his daughter, I am raising funds on behalf of my family during this difficult time. My stepmother, Hillina Wallen, has been tirelessly working two jobs to keep us afloat, and as a college student, I am unable to contribute as much as I would like.
We are humbly reaching out to our community for assistance. The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward:
- Medical Bills and Expenses: Supports Hillina and myself as we navigate financial stress and the loss of Howie
- Cremation and Celebration of Life Costs: Helping us give Howie the farewell he deserves
Your Impact
Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant difference in easing the financial burden on our family during this heart-wrenching time. Whether you can donate or simply share this campaign with others, your kindness and generosity will be deeply appreciated.
In Gratitude
Thank you all truly for your kindness and support. Your generosity has made a world of difference, and we are deeply grateful.
With love and remembrance,
Hana Wallen
