On what started as a terrible storm, tragedy struck the Vuk family in the most unimaginable way. A lightning strike caused a catastrophic fire that quickly engulfed their home, leaving it burned completely to the ground. In a matter of minutes, they lost everything they owned. As heartbreaking as the loss of their home is, the greatest heartbreak came with the loss of all four of their beloved dogs. They were cherished members of the family, and their loss has left an immeasurable hole in their hearts.

My brother-in-law, his fiancée, and their three boys, ages 2, 5, and 15, are now facing the overwhelming reality of starting over with nothing. Every room, every family photo, every piece of clothing, every toy, every keepsake, every memory they had built inside that home is gone. By the grace of God, they were not home at the time and are safe, and for that we are incredibly thankful. But now begins the long road of rebuilding their lives from the ground up.
