Help the Vandi-Bock be there for Elio
Hi all,
We are long time friends of Nathalie, Luigi and their children - aka the Vandi Bock family.
Their beautiful twin boys, Elio and Enzo were born 3 months ago on Australia Day and as you would know these three months have been a real life tsunami as little Elio never left the hospital.
Upon birth, Elio received surgery for ileal atresia. A few weeks later he caught a rotavirus and he was recently diagnosed with the Hirschsprung Disease which will have life long consequences.
Needless to say that it has been an extremely challenging time mentally, emotionally and logistically.
Their friends and colleagues have been really helpful with some cooking for the family and others helping with Owen and Adam's (their older sons) school dropoffs and pickups.
But with Luigi soon reaching the end of his paid parental leave and the upcoming unplanned expenses, we thought of setting up this GoFundMe page to provide a simple way for their friends, colleagues and the wider community members who want to help the Vandi-Bock family but don't know how.
We cannot take the worry, stress and emotional pain associated with witnessing the many painful procedures and suffering of little Elio but thankfully we can help them with some of the logistical and material challenges of the situation.
The funds collected will go directly to them and modestly assist with things like:
- Commuting/parking expenses to help with the daily hospital visits while looking after Owen, Adam and Enzo at home and with school
- Getting help from a Nanny/Au Pair
- Professional cleaning service to ensure a safe, bug-free environment for Elio once discharged from hospital
- Potentially helping with flights/quarantine costs for one of their family members to come to Australia from Europe
- Helping with general expenses in case of reduced income if either Luigi or Nath have to take more unpaid leave
Please join us to support their beautiful family in this difficult time.
