It is with a heavy heart that I reach out on behalf of Garrett and Kristen Strong, along with their young son Chandler, as they grieve the loss of their precious daughter, Sloane. At just 9 weeks old, Sloane has sadly passed away from a rare genetic condition called Generalized Arterial Calcification in Infancy.

The Strong Family has been fighting alongside Sloane at BC Children’s Hospital since her birth. Garrett has taken time off work to be by Sloane’s side with his family during her illness, and will continue to take time off to process their devastating loss. As they face the reality of saying goodbye to their daughter, the financial strain of lost income and the uncertainty of the coming months is adding to their already overwhelming burden.

In the wake of this horrible loss, their family could use some support from family, friends, and caring community members more than ever.

We are asking for your generosity to help the Strongs cover their living expenses and the cost of counselling for the family during this difficult time. Every donation, no matter how small, will help provide the Strong family some peace of mind as they focus on healing and honouring the memory of their beautiful daughter, Sloane.

Why It Matters

Sloane was with us for a short time, but she was so loved by her parents, big brother, and their support system. Garrett and Kristen are two of the kindest and most giving people, and their son Chandler is a sweet and caring little boy. The loss of Sloane has left a void in their lives that no words can possibly describe and no one should have to experience.

We hope to ease some of the burden that they are facing so that they can focus on finding comfort in one another, cherishing the memories of their daughter, and beginning the process of healing as a family
