Help the Stockton street food hub,

Hi, I’m Michael and some of you guys have known me from selling my uncles locally grown avocados for the last 3 years after work and on weekends at the top of my street and down on the central coast. well this year I was between jobs and started the avocado season earlier due to good seasonal conditions. We picked them and set up at home, that week I also went to the markets, met my brother and bought 4 extra things to sell alongside my avocados and oranges. I bought mandarins, pink lady apples, 5kg sebago bags of potato’s and a bin of pears, the response from the community was overwhelming, I was getting excited and having fun that week, I slowly bought more the next week, little more the week after now present day, we have run out of room in our driveway and tbh we have all been blessed Matt, Kayla and myself. It’s been a great experience. I’m starting a new job on the 20th, delivering for the farmers of mangrove mountain stock daily to the markets and in return. Our community in Lake Macquarie will benefit from fresh local picked that day produce. I also get to use that truck to deliver produce from Sydney to Morisset, but here is our dilemma. We have outgrown our driveway, we’d like to stay happy with all our neighbour’s and especially our local council and community. We have till the 19th to relocate into a warehouse in Morisset. It’s now a long weekend, I myself have been so busy daily, I’ve lacked the time and my ability to apply for a lease. We want to build a community hub that caters for everyone, fresh in season, is like the community to share produce, share stories of farming an ideas hub. We will run short of these things, time and ability to secure a property that we can move into that’s in a good location that suits the needs of parking, location, price, these things will also have to be considered, we have a 40 foot cool-room but it won’t be able to come to Morisset so I’ll have to build one, shelving to store fruit, signage on the building, construction of a back room to prepare fruit and vegetables, I’d need access to electricians, plumbers, sign writers. Plus all the starting up fees, fridges, the whole lot, now we do have money and I do have a truck and the know how, “been selling fruit and been at the markets with my family since I could walk. If you guys could help with support, furniture fridges small donation of cash, I’ll build this hub and keep it about the community, local sustainable fresh fruit and veggies, I plan to connect and supply the community with each other. All in the name of food stability, building friendships, share the know how on what to grow, share and harvest together. Our last day in our driveway at 22 Stockton st Morisset is 19.6.2025 we can’t trade at our home after that date, I do have a plan b, Matt and Kayla want to keep this going and they believe the industrial area is the way forward. I support this and will try to keep this hub afloat. Please no nasty comments on how I’ve made a go fund me, I’ve spent so much of my savings trying to make this work and to be told we have to cease trading at my driveway.
