Help the Solano Family Heal After Tragedy

Saturday afternoon James and his wife Jessica were spending the day with their kids, like any other normal day. They decided to check something off their to do list, and take their babies school supply shopping. Unfortunately when they embarked on that journey, their lives changed forever. James encountered an erratic driver, he was frustrated and felt his family was put in danger by the bad choices of a young driver. James made the fateful decision to confront this driver, a decision that cost him his life. As heart wrenching as this is, it’s made even more devastating by the fact that Jessica and their oldest child witnessed the entire event. A trauma that will be with them for the rest of their lives, James’ last moments of fear and helplessness.

Jessica is a devoted mother and wife, she had been patiently supportive of James’ hopes and dreams since high school, when they first met. After supporting James as he chased his dreams for over a decade, Jessica decided their family was stable and she would begin pursuing her dream- she enlisted in the Army, with the help and support of her recruiter, her best friend, her husband- James. Just a few short weeks before Jessica was due to leave for training, tragedy has struck.

Today, Jessica is a single mother. Their children (4, 7) will grow up without a father. The unimaginable has taken place in their family.

While the family is blessed and grateful to have the support of the Army through this time, we are asking for donations to help to provide a distraction for the kids, to be active out of the house during this devastating time.

Any donations for the family would be greatly appreciated.

Again we want to be completely transparent that these donations will go directly to the enrichment of the Solano’s children. Khaley Fernandez and her children have flown back to Hawaii to help care for the kids while Jessica and her family deal with the very troubling logistics of burying their husband, son, brother, father. All remaining funds will be transferred to Jessica to use for the kids when she sees fit.
