Dear Friends & Family,
My husband, Corey, and I have been trying for a baby now for 3 years. Each month that went by was filled with more and more disappointment, and we knew we needed help along the way. In August 2020, we were finally referred to a fertility clinic in Grand Rapids. We have gone through some procedures already which were unsuccessful, so our next step is to do In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).
Never in a million years did we think we would have to go down this road. It has been our dream to become parents. We have been patiently waiting to make our dream into a reality. After watching all the modules required for this treatment and the consultation we recently had with our fertility doctor, we will officially be starting the IVF journey next week.
After our first year of trying, we knew we may have to endure some type of fertility treatment. For 2 years we put money aside fearing this would be the step that we needed to take. We saved quite a bit of money only to find out that we are short of the total cost of IVF.
Corey and I take pride in our accomplishments especially when it comes to purchasing our wants and needs. This is why it is so difficult for us to post this. We are looking for a little help from our family and friends to help make our dreams come true.
Please know that Corey and I would rather raise the money by selling crafts or other side work. Since we are required to pay up front in a few weeks, our expectations of earning enough money on our own is not an option.
IVF is not a simple process, and it takes weeks of preparation with medication, blood work, and ultrasounds. We would like to thank our friends and family in advance for the help and support.
Sincerely,
Shelby Smith
