Aloha everyone, It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we are reaching out to ask for your support. Our family recently experienced a devastating house fire that changed our lives in an instant. My parents, Leinaʻala and Adam Sleightholm, along with their children, Kahanu Sleightholm, Manaʻo Ikeda, and Ashlyn Ikeda, their two precious grandchildren, and four fur babies lost everything they had. They didn’t just lose a house, they lost their home. Every bedroom, every family photo, every keepsake, every piece of furniture, clothing, essentials, toys, baby items, and the countless little things we often take for granted are all gone. Not only did they lose their home, but they also lost vehicles and everything needed to operate their family business, 808 Golf Carts. For many years, they have proudly served the Big Island community, helping countless families and businesses while building a reputation through hard work, dedication, and genuine care. This business is their livelihood and their family’s primary source of income. In a matter of moments, years of hard work disappeared. Their tools, golf carts, equipment, inventory, and everything they had worked so tirelessly to build from the ground up were destroyed in the fire. Along with losing their home, they are now faced with the heartbreaking reality of rebuilding both their lives and the business that has supported their family. If you know my parents, you know they are the kind of people who would give the shirts off their backs to help someone else. They have always been hardworking, humble, and selfless, constantly showing up for family, friends, our ʻāina, and our community. They never ask for anything in return, which makes asking for help now incredibly difficult.

We are asking for your support to help them through this incredibly difficult time. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping them with both their immediate and long-term needs, including: temporary housing, clothing, shoes, everyday essentials, vet bills for our fur babies that need care & got injured during the fire, food and other necessities, furniture and household items, essential items for the children and grandchildren, replacing the equipment, tools, and supplies needed to rebuild 808 Golf Carts, and helping them begin the long journey of rebuilding their home, their business, and their lives.
