It is with a heavy heart that we share the sudden loss of our father, Leo Sims on May 24, 2025.

As our family tries to navigate this difficult time, we’re not only faced with the emotional pain of losing our father, but also the financial challenges that come with goodbyes. We are humbly asking for your support to help with funeral expenses. Any amount is greatly appreciated.

Leo Alfred Sims, 59, of Shickshinny passed away suddenly at his home late Friday night. Leo was born in Kingston, Pennsylvania on July 9, 1965 to the late George and Christine Sims. He was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School. Leo worked as a groundsmen and cook for 30 years for the Wilkes-Barre Veteran’s Affairs Hospital. Leo enjoyed being retired for the last year and a half, fishing, going to auctions, working on small engines, dodge pick up trucks, spending time with his four legged friends and his family. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cathy Sims: Daughter Cathy and Husband David Gunther, Son Leo and girlfriend Kaitlin, Son Justin and Wife Sarah and his seven Grandchildren: Noah, Addison, Jude, Kaylee, Rhiannon, Madison, and Kaleb.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support, love, and kindness during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest in peace, our father, husband, grandpa and friend. Your memory will live on with us.
