Help the Shperuk Family Following Sudden Death

Donation protected
This fundraiser is being set up by the community around the Shperuk family following the sudden, shocking, and heartbreaking loss of dad, James Shperuk. In the early morning hours of July 28, 2022, James was taken from us from a sudden heart attack.James was an amazing son and brother, a loving and kind husband, and an outstanding dad.

Many have expressed wanting to support and contribute aid to the Shperuks, which is why we organized this fundraiser. Every cent raised through this fundraiser will go toward supporting James’ wife Megan and their son Thomas through the next overwhelming steps that come with losing a loved one. Funds will be used to cover expenses of cremation and to help relieve everyday financial worries.

Megan and James met in 2007 when she began working at Mario's Bowl in Thunder Bay. She always knew, from that first moment, that he was meant to be an important person in her life. After a long and happy time dating and getting to know each other, James finally asked Megan to marry him.

7 months later, their beautiful son Thomas was born. James’ world was instantly all about this small human. He spent weeks leading up to the due date trying to find the perfect tape to play on the drive home from the hospital. Alice Coopers’ ‘School’s Out’ was the winner. The next 7 years of their lives were filled with love and laughter, exploring and seeing the magic of the world through the eyes of their small human.

James was a collector of various hobbies and interests, his main love being Nascar and all things cars. He loved fast cars, loud cars, and even small RC cars.

James was also loved to collect all things Coca-Cola, inspired by his years of working at the local Coke warehouse. He was proud to work for the incredible team there, and always spoke highly of all the people he worked with.

Outside of the garage, another passion of his was bowling. The bowling community has known James through the 5-pin YBC program, coaching, working at no less than 3 different local bowling alleys and moving into adult leagues for both 5 and 10 pin. A highlight of James’ week was bowling with his brother, Christopher, and close friends Steph and Sue. James’ son Thomas joined in the passion through that same youth program James had participated in, trying out 10-pin and then settling into 5-pin, excelling in skills and sportsmanship with the help of his dad. Thomas had a great coach in his father, especially considering James had not only one, but two perfect 10-pin bowling games on his record.

James’ smile and laugh, his readiness to help anyone, and his incredible personality will be missed. He is leaving a large void in a lot of hearts. We sincerely thank everyone in the close-knit community around this family who has reached out and asked how they can help to show their love for this family during this unimaginably difficult time. James would be in awe of the tremendous support already exhibited over such a short amount of time.

To all of you: we thank you for rallying around Megan, Thomas, and the rest of James’ friends and family. Your care and kind words are so appreciated. There will never be enough words to express the gratitude that is felt by his loved ones.
