Help the Show Go On at Audiowild Studios

Hello potential supporter, my name is Brian Parnell and I am looking for an investment from the community to make much needed upgrades to Audiowild Studios so we can re-open in the town of Idyllwild!

Since 2021, our DIY venue has created a space with professional sound, lights, and stage for musicians to share their craft in our beautiful mountain town. From our free Local Jam Night on Thursdays to our all ages shows, we have been honored to provide a space for musicians of all different genres to play for locals and travelers alike. Our affordable audio recording capabilities have allowed artist to record for a fraction of what it would cost at a big city studio.

Thanks to our generous community, we achieved our initial goal of $6,000 which helped us keep our doors open and catch up on rent, BUT now we need to make the necessary upgrades to keep going.

An investment from the community would allow us to improve the facilities and equipment while staying competitive with studios off the Hill and keeping our rates affordable for artists. Construction has already begun and we're very thankful for the kind folks who have donated their time and materials so far. We have a lot more to do! Here are some of the upgrades that we're currently working on:

Additional Sound Proofing: We love our neighbors and we share a common interest - privacy! Aside from this common interest, we also share some walls and the lack of adequate soundproofing has limited our business hours and cost us clients. Funding from the community would allow us to add additional soundproofing materials to these shared walls, allowing our neighbors to run their businesses undisturbed and us to run our business at whatever hours we need. Not just for recording, but we constantly get asked about music lessons as well.

Increasing Capacity: The old stage location is no more and all of the lumber is being reclaimed to create a new and improved stage in a more suitable area. This opens up the space considerably, creating a great vantage point to view the stage from anywhere in the main room. The new stage location will also allow for us to fly most of our audio system instead of having clunky stacks of speakers on both sides of the stage.

Improving Acoustics: While the previous setup definitely provided for some amazing-sounding performances for both live shows and studio recordings, it's always been a challenge to wrestle with the natural acoustics of the room. Too many flat surfaces and odd angles were creating unwanted reverberations. Most of the existing drywall has already been removed and it's clear that we need better insulation materials as well. Thankfully, some friends in the Coachella Valley have already donated some extra lumber to help us add mass to the walls. We will definitely need more, and we also plan to add acoustic wall paneling and sound baffling on top of that.

Updated Audio & Video: Our original sound guy, Chris, is relocating and taking a lot of gear with him. We have enough to get by for now, but it's a big loss to no longer have the X32 console. It was always a struggle to get the balance between the live room audio and the live stream feed in synch. And a lot of times our live streams would be grainy and pixelated. We're looking to improve on all of these things. For the time being we have scaled back down to the 24 channel PreSonus we used our first year.

You may be asking....

If this is an "investment" what is the "return"? Well, the "return" is music. Through shows, free events, recordings, lessons, and many more activities, we return music to the community at large. Music has the ability to unite, heal, and uplift people. To provide music to a community is to provide the gift of healed hearts. We hope this return is of equal value to what is being given by our kind and generous investors.

The show must go on, we have so much more to do! Please consider investing in Audiowild Studios. Thank you.
