Dear friends and people of goodness,

My name is Lubabah Bakht from Ottawa, Canada and I've launched this GoFundMe to help my friend, Hasan Shakshak and his family, who have been displaced numerous times and are now in at the Deir Al Balah in the Gaza Strip. Hasan has 3 small children who are now 7 years old, 5 years old, and 2 years old. Witnessing his family struggle in these harsh conditions has been heartbreaking for him and his wife. The conditions are worsening daily.

The Shakshak family were living in Jabalia, northern Gaza and were forced to leave to become refugees when the strikes began in October 2023. His family faced four evacuations, moving from Jabalia to Khan Younis, then to Alaqsa University, to Rafah and now Deir Al Balah which is being bombarded every day. As innocent civilians, they've endured significant hardships, and leaving them without the means to afford basic necessities and let alone, little to no security. The impact of not being able to secure basic necessities is impacting the children's health.

Currently homeless and residing in a tent, their family lacks food, water, gas, diapers, hygiene products. They are forced to live in miserable unsanitary, living conditions in tents and evacuated areas with heavy bombs dropping all around everyday! Hasan's daughters, Mira and Aisha, have prevalent skin diseases. The children need proper treatment for the pimples and ulcers on their skin. The cost of groceries is very high. The children need your heartfelt donations for their parents to buy them fruits and vegetables to strengthen their immune systems and help their bodies overcome the prevalent diseases.

The cost of groceries is very high. Shampoo used to cost $4 and now it costs $44. Body soap used to be 80 cents. Now it's $14.

Hasan wants to move his family away from Deir Al Balah because it is not safe. To hire a truck to carry his family and their belongings will cost $500.

Hassan lost his mother, Ayesha Shakshak, in this war too who was diagnosed with cancer in September 2023. Due to the lack of proper medication and medical tests, his mother passed away in February 2024 after being displaced 3 times herself. The situation has become very dire for them.

Life in Gaza has become completely unlivable and we are seeking help for basic needs of shelter, food, water, medical care and safety. We need your help!

My goal is to raise enough funds to help Hassan Shakshak and his young family in Gaza to get them the money they need for humanitarian assistance and to evacuate and relocate to safety if possible due to the crisis.
