Help Julie and Zac Seaman during their time recovering from injuries, Winter 2024:
Julie and Zac have sustained injuries that are preventing them from working. Both parents work on their feet, and Julie is an ER nurse at Virtua Hospital and recently broke her foot. Her ortho hasn’t cleared her for work yet and predicts a 4-6 month recovery time for her injuries. Julie hasn’t been approved for state benefits because she was out of work weeks prior to her own injury, taking care of Zac after his injury in early November, which had him in the hospital for a period of time, and after three surgeries to get him heading toward recovery. State benefits only cover short-term disability claims once per year (every 365 days). While Zac is receiving benefits, Julie is not.
When a Collingswood household is short on funding half of a household’s income, it could be detrimental to the security of the family homestead. The Seaman family is in danger of losing their home and cannot pay enough of their bills without both parents' incomes, which is not currently being met.
This scenario is so close to each of us, and I know I feel grateful to not be facing this position. Our hearts are heavy for the Seaman family, and we are feeling desperate to lend a hand. If you could join me in finding support for them in this challenging time, we would be so grateful. After we do, that warm feeling in our hearts from supporting them will keep us cozy throughout the rest of these winter weeks.
Thank you Community!
