On Tuesday, October 28, my parents Juan and Peggy Scholis’ home of 17 years was destroyed in a devastating house fire. Thankfully, they and my brother Larry were not home, but we suffered the heartbreaking loss of our dog.

My family has lost nearly everything - clothes, furniture, keepsakes, and all the things that make a house a home.
