We’ve been deeply moved by the outpouring of messages and concern from so many of you. In response, we’ve created a relief fund to support the dedicated employees of SamSara & Legends and their communities as they rebuild in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa.
Our staff is family. Most have been with us for decades, helping to create the warmth and spirit that make SamSara & Legends feel like home for so many. They have given so much of themselves, and now it is our turn to give back.
Many of our team members are from heavily affected areas. Entire parishes have been devastated by flooding, with homes destroyed, power lines down, no running water, food, or basic supplies. Some areas remain completely cut off due to road blockages and outages, and we are working tirelessly to reach everyone. Our goal is to ensure that when we reopen our doors, our team can return with strength, stability, and the full support of the SamSara & Legends family behind them.
Your donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping our staff rebuild and recover from this life-altering loss. In Jamaica, we have a saying: “A mikkle mek a muckle”, meaning every little bit adds up to something bigger.
We are endlessly grateful for the loyalty of our guests and friends over the years. Your support now means more than ever. Together, we can help our beloved team and their communities find hope, healing, and renewal in the days ahead.

This fundraiser is being organized by the SamSara & Legends management team on behalf of our resort staff. All proceeds will be allocated directly to employees of both properties, including those who stayed behind and braved the storm, to assist them and their families in rebuilding their lives. Funds will be used to cover essential needs such as building materials for home repairs, replacement of personal items, non-perishable food, solar-powered lights and panels, baby care supplies, hygiene products, and first aid essentials.
All donations will be transferred to the resorts’ official business accounts in Jamaica and subsequently distributed to individual staff bank accounts to ensure transparent and equitable disbursement.
This campaign is coordinated by Davianna Absera, a member of the family that manages SamSara and Legends, who will be responsible for receiving the funds and ensuring their proper delivery to the intended beneficiaries.
