Help the Rivera Family after Tragic Loss in Fire

Donation protected
On the 4th of July, after celebrating on the Philadelphia waterfront, Alex Joel "Bebito" Rivera Ortiz (25) and Nayelis Rolón (23) went home in Pennsauken to be met with a terrible tragedy. Shortly after arriving, they were sadly trapped in a devastating fire, where they lost their lives. The couple had moved into their first home together only a month earlier. The fire broke out in their staircase leaving them unable to escape from their second-story home. Bebito was the step-brother of Jero, an incoming freshman at Eastern and Matias Ramirez, an incoming Kindergartener at Osage. Their father is unable to work for the time being, as the couple will be taken back to Ponce, Puerto Rico, their birthplace to be put to rest. Bebito was described as a kind, beautiful soul, who died protecting the love of his life. Bystanders report hearing loud noises and punching of the walls, and we believe he fought to the very end to try and save Nayelis, who suffered from anxiety and panic and most likely froze with shock during this tragedy. Please help us to support the Rivera family through this terrible event with all the costs of the local funerary costs before they are returned to their homeland.
