On the morning of May 14th, 2 tribal employees came to the residence of Katie Rico-Moose and shut off her water. Katie’s husband was at work, her 2 older sons were at school and she was home alone with her 2 youngest children. She asked why the water was being shut off, as she did not have an outstanding balance. The tribal employee stated it’s in the letter and pushed it through her fence and continued to turn the water off. The other employee stood by the shut off and watched. As they were leaving the employee that was watching began laughing at Katie as they pulled away. Katie shared a live video of the incident and she was rightfully upset but still had such strong composure. She is raising some strong children as they see by her example. This family of 6 is now without water during a pandemic where you need to wash your hands constantly!! The council members that made this decision to put this family in danger should be ashamed of themselves. I am asking for your help to get this family some sort of hope in this terrible situation. I have called about a water station so they can wash their hands, motel room expenses, water for household chores and for drinking, fans for their home as they cannot use their cooler without water and paper plates and plastic utensils to cut down on dishwashing. Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated by this family. Thank you!
