Tonight I have cried my heart out when I saw this image you know why?

Because this is a man made hunger crisis in Tigray.

The whole year we had hoped after one year that things would change and would get better, but today 20th of October 2022 we have been almost 2 years in this horror war and we have been crying to the world but no one is hearing us....

Today my mother and I have decided that giving up is not an option...

we have re-started our campaign again and we are going to do it again... we have to do something because sitting still is not an option... our families are being exterminated and doing nothing is not an option.

ENGLISH: Dear people donate & share if you can, There is a terrible war going on in the north of Ethiopia. It is the region my parents come from, for 24 days we have no idea what is happening. The region is totally cut off from internet, no resources, no access to their own money. In this stage we are afraid that a mass genocide is taking place! In this stage we are very concerned and daily thousands of refugees are walking to neighboring country Sudan. My mother wants to visit the refugee camps in Sudan and because people left their homes all of a sudden, the children are in need of clothes, milk, diapers, medications, but also the elderly. Currently there are already 40000 refugees in Sudan and 12000 of them are children. Every penny is welcome. We as the diaspora believe that we have to stop by any means this war and avoid any mass immigration! We don’t want a second Lampedusa. Dear people, every penny is welcome and all help is appreciated. For some people in the region it has been their third war in their lives. Zoals jullie misschien al hebben vernomen woedt er een vreselijke oorlog in het Noorden van Ethiopië, in de provincie Tigray. Het is de regio waar mijn ouders vandaan komen, dus het gaat ons persoonlijk aan. 24 dagen is Tigray totaal afgesloten van enige vorm van communicatie en we hebben geen idee hoe het met onze familie gaat. De diaspora van Tigray vreest voor vele massamoorden en dus een genocide. Op dit moment zijn er al 40000 vluchtelingen die in Sudan zijn aangekomen waaronder 12000 kinderen.

Mijn moeder wil heel graag de vluchtelingenkampen in Sudan bezoeken, om deze mensen die halsoverkop zijn gevlucht te helpen met de eerste basisbehoeften. De kinderen hebben kleding, luiers, melk, medicijnen nodig en de ouderen ook. Alles is welkom

Daar is geld voor nodig.

Deze oorlog moet zo snel mogelijk stoppen!! Wat wij moeten voorkomen is een tweede Lampedusa ramp! Vluchtelingen in boten richting Europa, dat is iets wat wij als diaspora ten alle tijden willen voorkomen!
