Sadly, on the night of October 23rd, an unimaginable tragedy struck the Recupero family when a fire destroyed their home in Dix Hills. Thankfully, no one was home at the time, and everyone is safe. Unfortunately, the family suffered the heartbreaking loss of Ivonne’s sister’s beloved dog in the fire.

Michael & Ivonne are the kind of people who are always there for others. Both are dedicated nurses, constantly giving back to their patients, friends, and community. Beyond their demanding careers, they generously volunteer their time with the Long Island Rebels, Team Long Island and the Half Hollow Hills Hockey Organization, where they’ve supported countless young athletes over the years.

Their children, Iliana, a 10th grader at Hills East, and Cristiano, an 8th grader at West Hollow, are active members of the community and adored by all who know them.

Now, it’s our turn to rally around the Recuperos the way they’ve always shown up for everyone else. They’ve lost their home, belongings, and a beloved pet—but not their hope or strength.
