Vale Tamarua Whaiora Rawhiti

The Celtics Rugby Club community is mourning with the passing of current player Tamarua Rawhiti.

Tamarua, the son of former Club President Rata Rawhiti and Erika Rawhiti, was deeply loved by his family, friends, and the wider community. His passing leaves a void that words cannot truly describe, and the days ahead will be incredibly difficult for all who knew and loved him.

The Rawhiti family are the kind of people who are always there for others — generously giving their time, energy, and hearts to those around them. Now, in their time of heartbreak, our club and community stand beside them.

A GoFundMe has been created to help ease some of the financial pressure the family is facing during this incredibly painful time, allowing them the space to grieve and honour Tamarua’s life.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Tamarua’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. As a mark of respect, the club will wear black armbands at our first game of the season in honour of Tamarua and to stand in support of the Rawhiti family.
