Help The Puppy Palace Save 20 Dogs' Lives
Donation protected
Hello friends, my name is Vica and I'm raising funds to help save abandoned dogs in Cabarete and Sosua, Dominican Republic.
My friend Marie-Christine is a guardian angel to the abandoned and abused dogs: she has been running The Puppy Palace DR, a rehabilitation and rescue for puppies, for almost a decade.
Over the years, Marie has found forever homes for 190 dogs who now live their best lives in the DR or in Canada. To achieve that, she had them all treated for their diseases, vaccinated, dewormed and neutered. It's a full time job. And she does it alone, relying on donations from dog lovers and her own funds.
I first met Marie at the local vet, while waiting for my own rescue to be vaccinated. She held a week-old puppy in her arms. When I congratulated her on the new dog, she said, "He was dumped on my street. Another one." I asked to explain. She did: every week entire litters of unwanted puppies are dumped on streets and back alleys; dogs get left behind when their owners move, or thrown out when medical bills become too steep. It's an epidemic. She takes them all in, and she gives them a second chance in life. But now she's full, and the costs are overwhelming.

Marie currently cares for 15 of her own dogs, 20 rescued puppies and 10 cats. Many are sick or injured and require medical help.
- One puppy requires a surgery on his broken hind leg, which will total $500 USD;
- Vet care and vaccines cost around $300 USD a month;
- Neutering and spaying $200 USD a month;
- Food adds to $700 USD monthly.
Marie can't do it alone. I have donated many times, so did many expats living in Cabarete and Sosua. The locals can't help because they just don't have this kind of money. But you do.
$10 or $50 will go a long way.
You could spend it on a drink or dinner, or you can help save a life. The feeling of joy and contentment that will wash over you from doing a really good thing will color your day in hues of happy.
Do it. Please.
We'll send you updates and photos of the puppies whose lives you helped save.
Thank you!
