I am Siphiwe Baleka, Founder and President of the Balanta B’urassa History & Genealogy Society in America (BBHAGSIA). We are a Pan African organization with headquarters in the United States and Guinea Bissau that has had over 200 dues paying members over the past three years, including 10 Lifetime members. Each year, BBHAGSIA selects worthy projects in Africa to finance. We have successfully moved more than $53,000 from the United States to West Africa to support indigenous language preservation, youth girls sports, scholarships for Pan African journalism, village school construction, Olympic training, and many other projects. We have been the vanguard leaders in the Afro Descendants; “Right to Return” and “Decade of Return” movements and initiatives and have played a significant role in at least three countries that are now offering citizenship to the African Diaspora, most recently, Guinea Bissau, which on Thursday, January 16, 2024 announced the first citizenships for nine of our BBHAGSIA members. This has been a priority since I attended the 2007 African Union “Grand Debate on the United States of Africa” that was held in Accra, Ghana where I was an advocate for continental citizenship.

On January 20, 2025 U.S.President Joe BIden pardoned the Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey who founded the Universal Negro Improvement Association and African Communities League, the largest organization of people of African descent in history with over 1,000 divisions and more than 6 million members worldwide. The aim of the UNIA was to safeguard a powerful “Africa for Africans, both those at home and abroad”. Marcus Garvey inspired a student from the village of Nkroful in Ghana named Kwame Nkrumah who became the visionary proponent of a United State of Africa with the positive sovereign power to make Garvey’s dream a reality.

A Movement was launched 2015 and has taken up Marcus Garvey’s dream and Kwame Nkrumah’s vision and has dedicated itself to the objective of Pan Africanists everywhere: “the urgent need to unite politically the African States by 2030.” This Movement has attracted the best minds and especially the political scientists who have figured out how the African people themselves, as opposed to the African government leaders who are supposed to work for the people, can utilize the sovereignty inherent in the African people to constitute a United African States.

For this reason, the Balanta B’urassa History and Genealogy Society in America is launching this fundraiser to support this Movement to equip to improve its chances of success: the political unification of the African countries and the birth of the United African States before the ongoing Scramble for African riches arrives at its term, around 2030.

We are asking all Pan Africanists to answer this Movement which has offered the most credible path to get us to Marcus Garvey’s dream. Once you donate we will share with you the ways and means by which you can join this coalition of Pan African organizations and individuals and to honor the legacies of Marcus Garvey and Kwame Nkrumah by symbolically contributing $1 to this global fundraising campaign or $10, $1 for each of the ten regions, as a demonstration of Ujaama, cooperative economics for the purpose of Kujichagulia - self-determination. Of course, you can donate more.

In the words of Marcus Mosiah Garvey, ‘Up ye mighty race, accomplish what what you will!”
