Help the O'Mara Children Who Tragically lost their Father

We are raising funds to help secure their future without the support of their dad. All donations will go to the O'Mara children to ensure they have the resources they need for their well-being and education.

It is with broken hearts that we share the sudden and unexpected passing of Shawn O'Mara — a devoted father, beloved friend, and true servant of his community. Shawn leaves behind his three beautiful children, who now face an unimaginable journey without their dad.

Shawn dedicated his life to serving others. A proud Navy Veteran, Shawn continued that spirit of service back home in Verplanck, NY, where he wore many hats — Fire Commissioner, Past Captain of the Verplanck Fire Department, and most notably, a compassionate Funeral Director at O'Mara & Carpentieri Funeral Home.

Whether he was responding to an emergency, honoring a life lost, or offering comfort to grieving families, Shawn was the one people turned to in their darkest moments. He carried the weight of our community with strength, kindness, and unwavering dedication. He showed up — every single time — for those in need.

Now, it’s our turn to show up for him.

This fundraiser has been created to support Shawn’s children as they begin to navigate life without their father. Funds raised will go toward their immediate and future needs — including educational expenses, living costs, and providing a sense of stability during this heartbreaking time.
