Our story began in 2021, a year that forever changed our family. One fateful day, a tragic accident involving my grandson ignited a fire in our home. He had found a lighter and, in a moment of fear, chose to crawl back into bed instead of alerting anyone. Thankfully, my daughter smelled the smoke and rushed to his side, pulling him to safety. But by the time we realized what was happening, our home was engulfed in flames. I remember running up the stairs, my heart racing, with a cast on my foot, desperately trying to extinguish the fire. But it was too late—everything we cherished was consumed by the flames. The few belongings I managed to salvage were later destroyed by a rat infestation in storage, leaving us with nothing but memories of what once was.

As we grappled with the aftermath of losing our home, life dealt me another devastating blow. In January 2022, I slipped on ice at work, fracturing my foot. Despite the pain, I returned to work, determined to provide for my family. But that decision led to complications that spiraled out of control. A severe infection landed me in the hospital for 10 agonizing days, where doctors fought to save my leg. I underwent reconstructive surgery, and the road to recovery has been filled with endless doctor visits, treatments, and painful procedures. The burden of my disability has left me unable to work for the past three years, plunging our family into financial despair.

Now, as I sit here reflecting on the struggles we've faced, I can't help but feel overwhelmed by the weight of it all. We are starting from scratch, without a home, furniture, or even the most basic necessities. I am humbly asking for your help. We need to raise $2,000 to cover essential moving expenses, the first month’s rent on a new place, and to purchase basic household items like beds, linens, and comforters. Your generosity can bring a glimmer of hope to our shattered lives, helping us find stability once again.
