Help the Navajo Nation get back on their feet

My name is Andreas Picard. I am a rising senior at Lycee Francais de New York. This coming summer, I will take part in a unique trip: living amongst, and working with, members of the Navajo Nation residing in Torreon, New Mexico.
Poverty in the Navajo Nation is both severe and endemic: the poverty rate is 71.6%. Covid-19 has made the situation far worse.
After learning how dire the situation is, I was determined to take action and help the Navajo Nation. In this regard, I met with Haven and Shanell Gordo, president and vice president, respectively, of the Torreon after school learning program, a community organization dedicated to enriching the lives of Navajo families, especially the Navajo children, through various educational and social programs.
In light of the current Covid restrictions, Haven and Shanell Gordo are planning to host a number of summer outdoor activities: family movie nights, stargazing, weekend camping trips, etc. The Gordos would also like to take the local children on a number of fishing trips throughout the summer. In order to host these activities, the Torreon after school learning program is in need of both a power generator and fishing equipment.
Nature is not only an essential part of life to the Navajos, nature is an essential part of my life. In this regard, I plan on spending part of my time in New Mexico helping to clean the environment through various trash removals and soil erosion conservation projects.
Please join me in helping Haven and Shanell Gordo bring some hope to the Navajo families, and light to the Navajo children, by making it possible for me to purchase a power generator, fishing equipment, roadway beautification and soil erosion conservation supplies.

Afin d'organiser ces activités, le programme périscolaire de Torreon a besoin d'un groupe électrogène et de matériel de pêche.
La nature n'est pas seulement un élément primordial de la vie des Navajos, elle est aussi un élément essentiel de ma vie. À cet égard, je prévois de consacrer une partie de mon temps à l'environement par le biais de divers projets de nettoyage et de protection contre l'érosion des sols dans la réserve.
