On 11/14 we had a fire at my parent's house that has left it unlivable. My parents and siblings are currently displaced. Luckily both dogs are well and alive. Everyone was outside doing yard work and hanging Christmas lights as a family. My dad noticed smoke and ran to the door. Luna, our childhood dog ran out and made it out quickly as soon as we opened the door. Our other dog, Peso got spooked and hid. My mom and sister ran inside the burning home looking for him and calling his name out, but they could not find him in the thick black smoke filling the home. The brave firefighters found Peso and rushed him to the emergency vet. He is doing well and had zero injuries. He's expected to come home tonight, thank God.

Diana: I'm greatful to God for the safety of my family and my dogs, Luna and Peso. This experience has been extremely difficult for my parents and I. My heart breaks for my mom and dad. Losing our childhood home and the countless memories. The home my parents sacrificed everything for. My parents have always been there for people in need and have always opened the door to anyone in need. Never asking for anything in return. They tought me to always be there for others no matter what the ask is. They are the most hardworking, honest, humble people I know. This is hard for them to ask for help. But on behalf of my family I ask for your help. God bless.

El 14 de noviembre, la casa de mis padres se incendió y quedó inhabitable. Mis padres y hermanos se encuentran sin hogar. Por suerte, nuestros dos perros están bien. Estábamos todos afuera, haciendo jardinería y colgando las luces de Navidad. Mi papá vio humo y corrió hacia la puerta. Luna, nuestra perra de la infancia, salió corriendo y logró escapar en cuanto abrimos la puerta. Nuestro otro perro, Peso, se asustó y se escondió. Mi mamá y mi hermana corrieron adentro de la casa en llamas buscándolo y llamándolo, pero no pudieron encontrarlo entre el denso humo negro que llenaba la casa. Los valientes bomberos encontraron a Peso y lo llevaron rápidamente al veterinario de urgencias. Se encuentra bien y no sufrió ninguna lesión. Gracias a Dios, esperamos que regrese a casa esta noche.

Diana: Le agradezco a Dios por la seguridad de mi familia y de mis perros, Luna y Peso. Esta experiencia ha sido extremadamente difícil para mis padres y para mí. Me duele el corazón por mis padres. Perder la casa de nuestra infancia y los incontables recuerdos. La casa por la que mis padres lo sacrificaron todo. Mis padres siempre han estado ahí para quienes lo necesitan y siempre han abierto las puertas a quien lo requiera, sin pedir nada a cambio. Me enseñaron a estar siempre disponible para los demás, sin importar lo que pidan. Son las personas más trabajadoras, honestas y humildes que conozco. Les cuesta mucho pedir ayuda, pero en nombre de mi familia les pido su ayuda. Que Dios los bendiga.
