Dear Friends, Family, and Compassionate Strangers,

My name is Samantha Merigliano. My parents are Dave and Carol Merigliano. I am starting this GoFundMe because of the recent tropical storm, Debby, and the Bee Ridge Water Restoration facility releasing several hundred thousand gallons of water into Laurel Meadows (our neighborhood). Our entire house was flooded and will now need to be rebuilt.

My father owns Dave’s on Main barbershop and has been cutting hair for many years. He is well-known in the community and loves to give back to others. For this reason, he would never ask for this kind of help. Ever.

We never imagined we’d be in this position, but life has a way of throwing unexpected challenges our way. On 8/4 a devastating tropical storm and external events swept through our community, it left behind a path of destruction. Unfortunately, our home was directly in their path, and we’ve suffered extensive flooding.

The water damage has affected every room in our house, destroying furniture, cars, our outside AC unit, and personal belongings. Our once safe and happy home is now uninhabitable. We are heartbroken and overwhelmed by the loss, but we are also determined to rebuild and recover from this disaster.

The costs of repairs, replacing essential items, and finding temporary housing are mounting quickly. Unfortunately, insurance will cover none of the expenses. That’s why we’re turning to you, our community, for help.
