Hello, my name is Joseph McCaskill. I'm a married father of 4.
My lovely wife Naima, my daughter Nala (8), my daughter Yuna (3), my son Naim (2), infant daughter Yara, and myself are in dire need of funds to help us keep our home. We have until September 30th, which is also the end of our lease, to come up with the funds so we can begin our new lease agreement. If we do not have the funds in time, they will not continue with us, and we do not have any other place to stay. With finally coming out of homelessness last September and being blessed with our current home, I ended up having my job assignment ended due to my wife's very difficult pregnancy. Her gestational diabetes and polyhydramnios (unusual amount of fluid around the baby) required me to be present for her and my children around the clock, and the hospital visits were very frequent per week for multiple reasons. This made employment very hard to attain and sustain.
From our daughter Yara's birth on March 29th, I have been struggling but not giving up. We have found ways to stay afloat with odd jobs, leveraging our tax refund, as well as short work assignments, and even started a laundry service to help accumulate funds as I applied for more permanent work.
We have contacted all Franklin County emergency rental assistance facilities and a few churches but haven't had any luck.
I have signed up for trade work training, I have done and am actively doing countless interviews, and I'm on the waiting list for peak season work availability as well. We are running out of time and are in need of help to keep our home. I don't want my 5-month-old, toddlers, 3rd grader, and wife, whose mobility is still limited in multiple ways, to be without a home this fall and winter. If anyone has it in their hearts to bless us, we thank you, and if not, we thank you for reading. We ask for your much-needed prayers and to please pass our story down to someone. You never know where a helping hand can come from.
Sincerely,
-The McCaskill Family-
