On the morning of April 13th, 2026, The McAdoo Family tragically lost their home and all of their belongings in an accidental house fire. Maryann woke up to the smell of smoking coming from her son Garret's room, not realizing he had already left for school, and immediately screamed for help from the neighborhood. Many neighbors called 911, while neighbor Antonio Lizardo went into the home to confirm her son was not inside, while also bringing Maryann to safety. By the time first responders arrived, nearly the whole house was in flames and nothing was able to be saved. Once the fire was able to be put out, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation and are not ruling out the possibility that the fire had started from a lithium-ion battery.
While Garret and his son little Garret were working with police force and officials at the home, Maryann was airlifted to Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia where she is currently admitted into the ICU. While Maryann is listed as stable, the family wishes to keep Maryann's condition private at this time.
The Lizardo/Costello Family have lived across the street from The McAdoo's for 20+ years, and we are making this Go Fund Me to help to rebuild the home that was lost yesterday. Neighbors truly become your family, and we would like to do anything that we possibly can to help them during this unprecedented time.
If you have ever come in contact with The McAdoo Family, you know that they are the most kind hearted, loving people that would do anything for anyone and now it is our turn to give back to them. Every little bit counts, so please consider donating what you can. I will list the clothing sizes for Maryann, Garret, and little Garret below. They also have a dog, so any extra pet supplies would be greatly appreciated.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you in advance to those who have already reached out and have been waiting for this page to be created. I will ensure The McAdoo's receive all of your messages and know how much they are loved.
