Hi. My name is Mary Lee Grimes. I am the aunt of Nikki Marenic and the late Jim Marenic. This amazing Christian couple were foster parents wanting to adopt children. They were able to finalize adoptions for 3 out of 4 of these beautiful babies. The fourth baby’s adoption is in process.

Jim was a mechanic by trade and one of those talented people who could fix just about anything. He loved camping, going to the shore, working on his show car and family outings.

He was a beloved husband, daddy, son, brother, uncle, nephew and was a wonderful friend!

Jim has had complications from diabetes for many years and recently started having heart problems. He entered the hospital October 17, 2022 for a toe amputation, which at that time, it was discovered that he had blocked arteries in his heart. He was already having trouble with kidney failure but the testing for the heart prompted the need to begin kidney dialysis. He was never released from the hospital. November 8, 2022, he had a quadruple bypass surgery in which he never regained consciousness. Jim succumbed to his illness November 30.

Jim and Nikki had purchased a larger house with a nice yard to provide a wonderful life for their 4 children. They moved into their new home two days before Jim went into the hospital. Nikki is now left to provide financially, spiritually and physically.

Any money raised would help immensely towards medical bills, funeral expenses, child care, and any of those everyday things that pop up that are completely unexpected.
